MANNY Oyeleke has returned to Aldershot Town on a short-term contract until April 30.

Oyeleke, 24, who was released by League Two club Exeter City last summer, is being immediately loaned to Ryman Premier League side Canvey Island until March 14 to help him regain full match fitness.

The midfielder made 51 appearances and scored six goals for the Shots in three loan spells from Brentford between August 2013 and January 2015. His dynamic displays in 2013-14 proved crucial in helping Aldershot secure their place in the Skrill Premier.

Oyeleke, who began his career at Chelsea, is a graduate of the Brentford Academy, but was released in May 2015 after three first-team appearances, along with further loan spells at Northampton and Woking.

He played 11 matches for the Grecians in 2015-16, including a goal-scoring appearance against Sunderland in a League Cup second-round tie which Exeter eventually lost 6-3. He left City in May 2016, but soon suffered an injury which has kept him out of the game until now.

“I’ve got loads of great memories here, I love the club and the fans, so I’m excited to be back,” said Oyeleke. “I’ve also heard a lot of good things about the gaffer from players he has worked with and I can see that the team play good football.”

Gary Waddock said: “I’m delighted to have brought Manny back to the club. I’ve always liked him as a player and saw a lot of his games here in his loan spells from Brentford.

“When he’s 100 per cent fit, he will be an excellent addition to the squad.”
