FARNHAM Town’s dismal run in the Combined Counties Premier League continued with a 2-0 home defeat to AFC Hayes on Saturday.
In Division One, Badshot Lea maintained their upward trajectory with a ninth successive win and their 2-0 home victory against Cobham was a notable result, the third-placed side having recently trounced Farnham 5-0 in the Challenge Cup.
Cobham’s resistance was broken three minutes before half-time when Darren Blake headed home from a Louis Hibbert corner.
Hibbert himself clinched the three points in the 79th minute after latching on to a Josh Francis through-ball.
Alresford hosted Petersfield in a Sydenhams Premier League local derby and had to come from behind to beat the bottom side.
The Rams held on grimly after Luke Kendall had given them an early lead. Alresford were still trailing at half-time and must have been wondering if they would ever score as Luke Eaton made a series of superb saves in the away goal.
Eventually, however, Craig Harding came off the bench and tucked home the equaliser on 57 minutes.
Harding then put the Magpies ahead, with fellow replacement Dave Parry providing the assist.
The game was put beyond a valiant Petersfield in the 75th minute, Ben White stroking the ball home after pinpoint passing by Parry and Scott Munro.
Jake Daniels scored a late winner for Liss Athletic who defeated near-neighbours Liphook 2-1 in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division.
Liphook led for most of the game after Ryan Angear’s first-half strike, but Connor Messenbird finally equalised and Daniels sealed the victory in the 89th minute.
Owen Milne scored twice for Clanfield, but Infinity came away 3-2 winners.
