MATCH of the day in the Hampshire Premier League Senior Division was the A3 derby between Clanfield and Liss Athletic which produced 10 goals and two hat-tricks.

Liss emerged 6-4 victors after a highly entertaining encounter. Connor Messenbird (Liss) and Harry Potter (Clanfield) hit three goals apiece. Andy Brown scored a late fourth goal for Clanfield, but Liss were always in front.

James Knight scored in the first minute and Messenbird got his first immediately after. Goals from Jake Warlow and Dan Sharpe put Liss 4-1 ahead after 20 minutes. Potter led Clanfield’s fightback, but Messenbird made sure for Clanfield who remain fourth in the table.

Leaders Liphook United recorded a 4-1 win over visitors Hayling. Marcus Bedford and Steve Harding scored two each for Liphook, with Kieran Carter replying for Hayling.

In the only Division One match played, AFC Petersfield recorded a valuable win on the road, beating Lyndhurst 3-0 with goals from Cameron Langan (2) and Joe Kirby.
