LIL Cummins’ Lady Captain’s Day at Cowdray Park was an individual ‘Shotgun’ Stableford. The day was well supported in fine, but windy weather, with teams having to double up on the tees.
There were cakes at the first tee and an excellent meal afterwards, and a great atmosphere in the clubhouse for the prize-giving.
Results: Ladies’ winner, Tessa Stockwell (37 pts); 2nd, Helen Bernard (35); 3rd, Jo Fife (35); 4th, Polly Sullivan (35). Men’s winner, Richard Burden (38 pts); 2nd, Lawrence Hyde (38); 3rd, Ken Chapman (38).

Lil Cummins organised an away day for Cowdray Ladies at Hamptworth Golf Club in the New Forest.
Twenty-six members played a team stableford and the winners with an excellent 83 points were Carolyn Scott, Vicky Lush and Anne Chuter. Runners-up Margaret Hoare, Jackie Cardiff and Barbara Smith scored 72 points.
Cowdray Ladies’ medal competition for the Cowdray Cup (gross) and Wakeham Trophy (net) was played over two days.
