Farnham Rugby Club's under-16 girls continued their unbeaten Surrey Waterfall Cup campaign with a trip to Old Rutlishians.
It was a physical game from the outset, with both sides seeking to dominate up front.
Farnham began to get the better of the collisions and forward Izzy Kingham burst over to open the scoring.
Dasha Danylchencko – Farnham’s Ukrainian superstar – added a second from another forwards’ drive.
Then it was the backs’ turn as the game opened up. Mimi McArthur chased down a kick, gathered and scored, before Hattie Stockham broke through from fullback to make it 26-0 at half-time, with three conversions from Alice Rees.
After the break, Old Rutlishians made a spirited comeback with an early score. EJ Bowdler returned the favour from scrum-half before Ruts scored again. Farnham had the last word with a breakaway try from winger Polly Milner.
The final score was 36-10 – Farnham’s girls produced a solid performance with their defensive organisation and intensity proving decisive on the day.
